All the languages ​​of the world have some symbols to write and express, and the sum of those symbols is called the alphabet of that language.

    English alphabet বা ইংরেজি বর্ণমালা

    Like all other languages ​​in the world, English has some symbols for writing and expressing what is called the English alphabet.

    How many letters are there in the English alphabet and what are they?

    There are a total of 26 letters in the English alphabet.  These letters are written in these two ways of upper hand and lower hand.  The upper case letters are called capital letters and the lower case letters are called small letters.

     Capital letters are - A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W  , X, Y, Z

     Small letters are - a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, I, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w  , x, y, z

     Note that although 'A' and 'I' are letters, they are also used as words.

    ইংরেজি বর্ণমালায় মোট ২৬ টি letter বা বর্ণ আছে। এই letter বা বর্ণ গুলিকে বড় হাতের ও ছোট হাতের এই দুই ভাবে লেখা হয়ে থাকে।  বড় হাতের বর্ণ গুলিকে বলা হয় capital letters এবং ছোট হাতের বর্ণ গুলিকে বলা হয় small letters. 

    Capital letters বা বড় হাতের বর্ণ গুলি হল - A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X,Y, Z

    Small letters বা ছোট হাতের বর্ণ গুলি হল - a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, I, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, w, x, y, z 

    প্রসঙ্গত উল্লেখ্য, 'A' এবং 'I' বর্ণ হলেও এরা word বা শব্দ হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হয় ।

    English letters can be divided into how many parts and what?

    What is a vowel?

    Vowels are letters that can be pronounced on their own without anyone's help.  A, E, I, O, U These five letters are vowels.

    যে বর্ণগুলি কারো সাহায্য ছাড়াই একা একা নিজে নিজেই উচ্চারিত হতে পারে তাদের vowel বা স্বরবর্ণ বলে। A, E, I, O, U এই পাঁচটি letter হল vowel বা স্বরবর্ণ ।

    What is a consonant?

    The letters that are pronounced with the help of vowel letters, which cannot be pronounced alone, are called consonants.  Except for five vowels (a, e, i, o, u), the remaining 21 letters are consonants.

    যে বর্ণগুলি ‌vowel বা স্বর বর্ণের সাহায্য নিয়ে উচ্চারিত হয়, নিজেরা একা একা উচ্চারিত হতে পারে না তাদের consonant বা ব্যঞ্জনবর্ণ বলে। পাঁচটি vowel ( a, e, i, o, u ) বাদে বাকি ২১ টি বর্ণ হল Consonant বা ব্যঞ্জনবর্ণ।

    Which are the semi vowels?

    In consonants, w and y are called semi vowels.  These two letters are considered vowel when they sit in or at the end of a word, and when they sit at the beginning of a word, they are considered consonant.

    ব্যঞ্জনবর্ণের মধ্যে w এবং y এই দুটিকে বলা হয় semi vowel বা অর্ধস্বর । এই দুটি বর্ণ যখন কোনো শব্দের মধ্যে বা শেষে বসে, তখন এদের vowel হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয় এবং যখন কোনো শব্দের প্রথমে বসে, তখন এদের consonant হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়।
